Teams of emergency officials will comb a 4-square-mile area of the Texas Panhandle to assess the damage from a wildfire and search for potential victims.
Texas A&M Forest Service spokesman Troy Duchneaux says the crews began a door-to-door search Tuesday of the area around Lake Meredith about 30 miles northeast of Amarillo.
Duchneaux says the fire that start Sunday near Fritch was about 65 percent contained Tuesday.
He says the fire has destroyed 156 structures, including at least 89 homes, and forced about 2,100 people to evacuate. Hundreds of people remain out of their residences. No injuries were reported.
