A Champion Enterprises factory that was the biggest employer in the city of Henry, Tenn., has been wiped out in a fire.
No workers were present when the fire began early Jan. 8 at the manufactured home plant. The only reported injuries were minor injuries to firefighters.
Henry County Emergency Management Director Ron Watkins says the facility is a total loss.
According to the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, the plant that opened in 1968 employed about 230 people.
Champion Enterprises Inc. is based in Troy, Mich.
Sheriff Monte Belew says investigators will be probing the cause of the blaze but they do not suspect arson.
