A West Virginia court indicted a Welch, W.Va. man on two felony counts of filing a false claim with an insurance company, according to Insurance Commissioner Jane L. Cline.
A Mercer County Grand Jury indicted Aaron D. Brown, 42, on June 9. Brown is accused of staging multiple slip and fall accidents as well as staged foot runovers in order to collect money from insurance companies, Cline said.
Brown collected well over $10,000 in benefits in the two cases involving the indictment, according to Cline. If convicted Brown faces a one to 10 year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,000 on each felony count.
