Fire caused heavy damage to two businesses in downtown Lowell, North Carolina, forcing firefighters to block off much of the area.
Police in Lowell said a 911 call came in at 9:51 p.m. on June 19 reporting a fire at The Lowell Family Restaurant and the Highland Center Washerette & Dry Cleaners next door.
Firefighters from at least eight different departments fought the blaze with nearly a dozen trucks.
It was unclear late on June 19 if anyone was in any of the businesses at the time, or if anyone was injured.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
