Alabama state troopers have launched an electronic crash report system that will speed up the turnaround time for those involved in a crash to get a report.
The system, called e-Crash, is good news for motorists because insurance companies typically need the reports before they can process claims.
State Trooper Sgt. Steve Bryant said in one instance a motorist had his wreck report in five hours.
Sgt. Chris Brown, the e-Crash project manager, spent the last two years setting up the system. He said its a better way to submit crash reports and to do it in amore timely manner.
Brown noted that the state had been criticized by federal agencies for failing to release crash reports in a timely fashion
