A lawsuit that was brought by the mother of a Disney World worker killed during an accident in 2009 has been voluntarily dismissed.
Orange County court records show the suit was dismissed on March 24, but the reason of the dismissal was not stated.
Austin Wuennenberg was killed in July 2009 when the monorail he was piloting was struck by a second train that was driving in reverse due to a track alignment issue. His mother, Christine, filed a suit claiming that her son’s former boss at Disney “flippantly” vacated his duties and created a dangerous situation.
Disney said the pilot of the train that struck Austin Wuennenberg’s monorail was told to go in reverse. Disney also said an incorrect report of a track switch caused the incident.
