Volusia County authorities say a 10-year-old Florida boy’s leg was run over by a float’s flatbed truck during a parade, but the injuries were minor.
Authorities say the boy was walking alongside a float Saturday night in Deltona’s Christmas parade when he reached into the float and got tangled in the truck’s wheel. Volusia County sheriff’s spokesman Gary Davidson told The Daytona Beach News-Journal that the boy “was going to retrieve some candy and got too close to the float.”
Davidson says the boy’s injuries are minor.
The parade was stopped as paramedics freed the boy from the truck’s wheel bed and took him to the ambulance.
