Fire investigators in metro Atlanta say a blaze that destroyed a home in Lilburn was actually an arson meant to conceal evidence of a burglary.
Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services Lt. Colin Rhoden Wednesday said a Feb. 1 fire that gutted a home on Stafford Drive has been ruled an arson. The home’s residents told authorities about specific items that were missing after the fire and fire investigators say the blaze originated from multiple places. Information on the missing items was not immediately available.
Fire investigators are asking tipsters to contact Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services and Rhoden says a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
Lilburn is about 30 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.
