The Georgia State Patrol says that traffic accidents during the Labor Day holiday travel period resulted in 14 deaths across the state.
Authorities said state troopers arrested more than 225 drivers on charges of driving under the influence.
State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright says troopers were called to investigate 443 of the traffic crashes, which resulted in 226 injuries. State troopers also investigated crashes involving 10 of the 14 fatalities reported during the period.
The 78-hour period began Friday at 6 p.m. and ended Monday night.
