Emergency officials say they’re looking into reports of damaged homes and downed trees and power lines after severe storms struck parts of southwest Alabama.
In Washington County, the emergency manager early Monday informed the National Weather Service that homes were damaged and campers overturned and some roads in the area were blocked.
Preliminary reports to the weather service indicate that the damage in Washington County occurred from just east of the town of Chatom to an area near the St. Stephens community. The area is about 60 miles north of Mobile.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries.
