A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck California’s Bay Area on Thursday, Jan. 7., along the Calaveras Fault, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Residents reported feeling the temblor primarily in the south bay, as the earthquake struck about 6 miles east of Milpitas. Yet respondents felt shaking farther north, in San Francisco and up to Novato and San Ramon.
