Federal regulators have cited two wood-product companies in Superior for alleged health and safety violations.
The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing fines totaling $59,500 for Eureka Pellet Mill and $42,500 for Mountain West Products LLC.
OSHA said that it had cited the Eureka Pellet Mill with more than 20 alleged health and safety violations from blocked emergency doors to exposing workers to combustible dust.
OSHA cited Mountain West Products with two alleged repeat violations, including exposing workers to a fall hazard and failing to ensure that moving parts on equipment were adequately guarded
The companies have 15 business days to comply, contest the findings or request an informal conference.
