Officials say San Diego city and county suffered at least $10 million in damage from December’s storms.
The City Council and the county Board of Supervisors declared states of emergency this week, a step toward seeking state and federal funding.
The storms downed trees, created potholes, flooded streets and damaged bridges, roads and railroad tracks.
The San Diego Union-Tribune says early estimates put the county’s damage repair and cleanup costs at $4 million. The preliminary estimate for the city is $6 million.
However, damage assessments continue.
More than $100 million in damages have been reported by other Central and Southern California counties.
