Police say 520 drivers were ticketed for running red lights in Henderson, Nev. during a three-week enforcement effort that ended Friday.
Henderson police spokesman Keith Paul said Tuesday that another 132 summonses were issued to motorists using cell phones.
Officers also ticketed drivers for registration and license violations and for not having insurance.
Paul says various area police agencies took part in the effort under a Joining Forces grant.
He notes that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found in 2011 that about one in five fatal crashes nationwide occurred at intersections.
So far this year, 76 people have died on Nevada roadways, including one fatal crash in Henderson.
