Fire investigators have traced the cause of a fire that damaged six units at a Las Vegas self-storage facility to a faulty electric power strip in one of the units.
Fire spokesman Tim Szymanski says no one was injured in the fire reported about 10 p.m. Tuesday at the 60-unit Store-n-Lock facility on Sirius Avenue. That’s several blocks west of Interstate 15.
Szymanski says fire sprinklers helped quell flames in the garage-type storage units before Las Vegas and Clark County firefighters arrived.
Two units had significant fire damage. Four others were damaged by smoke and water.
Investigators ruled the fire accidental. Damage is estimated at $15,000.
