The Nevada State Bar says free legal assistance is available for people dealing with government agencies, insurance companies, landlords, contractors and banks after recent flooding in Clark County and the Moapa Paiute reservation northeast of Las Vegas.
Officials will be at the Moapa Valley Community Center in Overton from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday to match flood victims who can’t afford an attorney with lawyers volunteering their time.
The Disaster Legal Services Program is a cooperative effort by Nevada Legal Services, the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, the State Bar’s Young Lawyers Section and other agencies.
Flood victims can also contact Nevada Legal Services at 866-432-0404 or the Legal Aid Center at 702-386-1070.
Officials tallied 139 flood-damaged homes in Moapa, Overton and Logandale following the Sept. 8 storm.
