DALLAS, TEXAS – Strong capitalization and improved underwriting performance earned Unitrin Property and Casualty Insurance Group and its members, including Unitrin Specialty, an “A” from insurance credit rater A.M. Best Company.
The “A” score was received after a positive review of the company’s overall financial strength and credit ratings.
Unitrin Specialty has earned an A.M. Best “A” rating since 1986 when it was known as Financial Indemnity Company.
“In our business – where customers buy a promise – the financial strength, stability and performance of the company making and backing those promises should be an important factor when selecting a business partner or insurer,” said Unitrin Specialty President John Mullen. “Over the years, we have proven consistently that our agents and their customers can count on us to be around regardless of market conditions.”
Besides Unitrin’s strong capitalization and improved underwriting performance A.M. Best said the ratings reflect geographic and product spread of risk.
