Denver, Colo. (Feb. 4, 2014) – OnPoint Underwriting, one of the nation’s leading program managers for Sovereign Nations, announced Nancy Arky has been promoted to senior vice president underwriting. Arky joined OnPoint in the spring of 2012 and will continue to lead the underwriting department for the Sovereign Nation team. In addition to her tribal underwriting responsibilities, Arky will assume the leadership of both loss control and producer management.
Arky has more than 25 years of experience in a variety of disciplines within the insurance industry and has focused on program business for the last decade. Prior to joining OnPoint, Arky worked with QBE Americas as an underwriting manager where she was responsible for the largest rural telecommunications insurance program in the country. She has also held positions at Swiss Reinsurance, Employer’s Re and Aetna Life and Casualty.
“Nancy’s promotion is directly related to her wealth of experience in commercial underwriting and the high quality products she and her team provide for tribes, producers and our carriers,” said OnPoint’s president, Scott Marshall. In 2013, OnPoint had another successful year with written premiums growing by double digits. “Nancy’s contributions have directly led to OnPoint’s successful development the last two years and we expect that trend to continue,” Marshall said.
Arky added, “OnPoint has a great team from loss control and underwriting to claims advocacy as well as a hands-on attorney who has been working directly with us for more than 20 years answering sovereign-related questions from our producers and insureds.”
Arky became familiar with the program for Sovereign Indian Nations more than 15 years ago and has been impressed with its nearly 30-year commitment and passion for Indian Country. “Being part of this team has been a highlight of my career. We are excited about the future and our continued efforts to provide competitive products designed specifically for our customers.”
OnPoint is finalizing two new product launches, which will complement a growing segment in the Sovereign Nation marketplace. The company plans to launch an alternative energy program designed around solar, wind and biomass. “This new product uses our experience in the tribal market arena and will be designed specifically to address our sovereign nation customers’ needs,” said Arky. Additionally, the OnPoint team will launch its new health care offering in 2014 focusing on voluntary benefits. “We designed both of our new programs specifically for the Sovereign Nations and it is an exciting new focus for us,” Arky said.
