An insurer has agreed to settle a sexual harassment claim against the embattled director of the Philadelphia Housing Authority.
The settlement stems from a complaint filed by an ex-employee who says executive director Carl Greene groped her and made unwanted sexual advances after insisting they meet at a restaurant.
An attorney for ex-PHA architect Elizabeth Helm says insurer Housing Authority Risk Retention Group agreed to settlement terms Friday.
Former Mayor John Street, a PHA board member, expressed displeasure over the settlement, but a housing authority spokesman says it doesn’t require board approval.
Greene dropped out of sight for a week earlier this month after reports surfaced that his mortgage had gone into foreclosure. He subsequently apologized for his disappearance.
