A Vermont rescue official says a telecommunications worker who fell 60-feet off a tower in Hartford was in better condition than someone should have been after falling so far.
The name of the 35-year-old worker from Massachusetts was not released.
Hartford Fire Lt. David Rowlee says the victim was part of a crew working on a tower overlooking U.S. Route 4 on Thursday morning.
Officials say the victim fell 50 feet and then hit the roof of a small metal building before rolling off that structure and falling the remaining 10 feet to the ground.
The Rutland Herald says the victim remained conscious and alert, although he was in severe pain.
The victim’s condition was not available.
