Police say two central Ohio men playing a prank are being charged with causing a fatal traffic crash by concealing a stop sign with several layers of plastic wrap and petroleum jelly.
Pickaway County Sheriff Dwight Radcliff said 19-year-old Seth Stonerock of Stoutsville and 18-year-old Derek Greenlee of Circleville pleaded not guilty Thursday in Circleville on involuntary manslaughter charges.
Police said an 85-year-old woman was killed Aug. 17 when the car she was riding in ran the stop sign and collided with a vehicle crossing an intersecting road. Her sister, the car’s driver, is in critical condition at a Columbus hospital.
Greenlee’s attorney, James Kingsley said there is information that’s not yet known and “all tragedies are not always a crime.” A message was left for Stonerock’s lawyer.
