A 53-year-old Reedsburg man who pleaded guilty to his 10th offense of drunken driving has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Michael J. Clevenger was sentenced Friday, one day after pleading guilty in Columbia County court.
A criminal complaint says a deputy saw Clevenger’s vehicle swerving last New Year’s Eve. The deputy reported finding open bottles of vodka in the vehicle.
Prosecutors say Clevenger failed field-sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.22 percent, nearly three times the legal limit.
The complaint says after Clevenger was handcuffed, he lunged at deputies and threatened to fight them if the cuffs were removed.
A message left with his public defender Saturday was not immediately returned.
A Portage Daily Register report says Clevenger has nine convictions dating back to 1991.
