With the recent news surrounding government bailouts, potential bankruptcies and turmoil amongst GM and Chrysler, many Americans may be wondering how this will impact what cars they will see on the road.
Hagerty Insurance, a provider of collector car insurance, polled its client base to get the public’s take on what models would be missed the most should American car manufacturers start eliminating models from their current lineup.
All Hagerty clients were included in the poll with only one question –“What American Car Could You Not Live Without?”
Nearly 1,000 responses came in, with American muscle overwhelmingly topping the list of “favorites”. According to the poll, the Chevrolet Corvette would be missed the most, while the Ford Mustang came in second.
“Now more than ever, American car manufacturers are the center focus of this economic decline,” says McKeel Hagerty, CEO of Hagerty Insurance. “As car enthusiasts, many of us would hate to see these cars become extinct.”
According to the Hagerty poll, the top 10 cars Americans can’t live without, includes:
1. Chevrolet Corvette
2. Ford Mustang
3. Dodge Challenger
4. Chevrolet Camaro
5. Ford F-150
6. Cadillac CTS
7. Saturn Sky
8. Hummer
9. Dodge Ram
10. Chrysler 300
