A Thibodaux man killed in a weekend traffic accident was driving with a suspended license.
Thirty-four-year-old Danny Young and a passenger, 28-year-old Maria Harry, died in the Saturday night accident. State police said the car Young was driving left the road in a curve on La. Highway 24 in Gray.
Neither Young nor Harry was wearing seat belts. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Daily Comet reports that Young had been arrested Oct. 3 on suspicion of drunk driving by Thibodaux Police. Authorities confirmed that he should not have been driving because his driver’s license was suspended as a result of the arrest.
It was unknown Wednesday if alcohol was a factor in the Saturday accident. Results of toxicology tests were pending.
