Yes, there will be more Alabama state troopers patrolling state highways this week.
Beginning Aug. 18, troopers were on the lookout for drivers who violate traffic laws.
The Department of Public Safety said troopers will also use vans called “BAT Mobiles.” BAT is a breath alcohol testing device that allows troopers to conduct roadside sobriety checks.
Mississippi and Tennessee are also joining Alabama to put more officers on patrol Aug. 18-24.
It marks the third time the states have teamed up for a “Take Back Our Highways” campaign.
