Gov. Nikki Haley has appointed Mike Campbell to serve on the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission.
The Greenville News reported that Haley cited Campbell’s business experience and community involvement in the appointment.
Campbell is a business development consultant and is the son of the late Gov. Carroll Campbell. Mike Campbell lost to Henry McMaster in his second bid for lieutenant governor this year.
Haley’s office says Campbell will be paid $116,000 a year for his commission work.
In 2003, Campbell was appointed to the governing board of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, where he served as vice chairman. He also served as chairman of the Law Enforcement Advisory Committee for eight years.
