Recognizing the growing menace of gangs in Utah, Farmers Insurance Group of Companies has partnered with the Utah Gang Investigator Association and Law enforcement agencies through the sponsorship of a parent guidebook to help parents and families who may have children at risk for gang involvement.
“The UGIA is seeking to implement a program that uses a three pronged approach to reducing gang participation in the state. Those three aspects are prevention, intervention, and the traditional suppression,” noted Bruce Champagne, president of The Utah Gang Investigators Association.
According to John Henle, Farmers Utah State executive director, “The guidebook contains valuable information on how to recognize if a child is becoming involved in gang activities.” he said.
Henle continued, “The guidebook is endorsed by Utah State law enforcement agencies and the educational community.”
The guidebook is available at no cost to the public through contacting local law enforcement agencies or the Utah Council for Crime Prevention at www.ugia.org.
