A Montana company voluntarily is recalling children’s sunglasses after finding that paint on them may contain excessive lead.
Axiom International Inc. of Billings says about 5,300 sunglasses imported from China are being recalled. Consumers are advised to return them to the place of purchase.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said that no incidents in connection with the sunglasses had been reported.
The sunglasses are blue or red and feature a likeness of a spider web. The words “Made in China” are on the side of the frame.
Party, discount and hardware stores nationwide offered the sunglasses for sale between May 2007 and last August. The sunglasses were priced from $1 to $5.
